A Night Out – A Night of Discovery

One of my favorite things to do is going out. No, not to go out clubbing or drinking or whatever them young whippersnappers do. *grin Okay, I’m not that old, but what I love to do is go out and do something different. A night out with my hubby is usually a dinner and movie in our hometown, but every once in a while, we head into the city to do something different. And a night out with the kiddo is almost always entertaining.

A couple of weeks ago, my daughter and I headed to Richmond, BC to the Richmond Night Market where we pretty much spent the evening eating a variety of international foods from Korean “fish cakes” to BBQ squid (a first for the kiddo) to bubble tea (a first for me) to – my favorite – grilled meat on a stick. We were fat and happy when we left there, that’s for sure. And it was so much fun! The crowds didn’t even bother me, which for me is a huge deal.

The second outting, just last week, was with my dear husband. He works nights, so even on his days off, he only goes out in the evenings. It was our first really cool, damp fall day (my favorite kind of days) so we drove into Vancouver, had dinner at my favorite all you can eat Japanese place on Davie Street, which is a part of Vancouver I love. Then we went out to Stanley Park after dark to look at the lights and take some rather funny selfies in the dark.

It’s all about having fun, isn’t it? Discovering new things – the Night Market – and spending time with those people I love.

  1. Leanne – as you know, it’s also one of my favorite things to do, discover new things. Though I have to admit, there aren’t all that many new things downtown for me – but I still find them occasionally, especially if a friend asks me to look for some specific kind of food that I might not eat all that often.
