Almost everyone I’ve run into in the last couple of weeks has had one version or another of the cold. I guess this is why they call it the common cold. So here, from my dear friend Lisa, is a way to deal with your symptoms and help you get better faster. Her husband Greg swears that you’ll feel instantly better after the first bite.
But before I give you that recipe, I want to tell you one of the other ways she says will shorten and lighten a cold. Mega doses of Vitamin C and zinc. Other things I’ve seen while I’ve been Googling cures have been hot showers or baths to decongest your sinuses, drink hot fluids (try warm water, lemon and honey), take some time off, and stay warm.
Lisa’s Health in a Cup Soup
Thyme to taste
Salt and pepper
Thinly sliced yellow potatoes
One entire head of garlic (this is crucial)
Kale (or some other heavy green, or a combination of heavy greens)
Make a soup from these ingredients.
Drink. Feel better.
